Pakistan buys grain from Russia for UAE dirham in November

MOSCOW, Dec 20 (PRIME) -- Pakistan bought a record 1.4 million tonnes of grain from Russia in 2023 and paid for the imports in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) dirham in November for the first time, according to the data of the government seen by PRIME on Wednesday.

Pakistan imported 377,200 tonnes of wheat at the end of November for about 10.6 billion rubles, more than 82% of the amount was paid in the dirham.

In 2022, Pakistan bought 294,000 tonnes of Russian grain.
